Being introspective helps us to understand emotions. Sometimes, we think this is not important. And so few people worry about knowing how they work. Instead, we try to know much more about how our bodies work.

In fact, when we go to the doctor and he says we should treat the gall bladder, almost everyone knows what he means. Reading books, listening to other people or studying anatomy, many of us know what our internal organs are, how they work and what they are for. So, the doctor, or some other professional, who deals with promoting or recovering health can detect our physical problems, advise us on what to do, or take action to keep ourselves sound.

This regards our physical appearance.

Is this also the case for our emotional aspect? Do we understand how our emotions work within us, which thoughts, intentions and expectations govern them, what stress they cause and how they influence our decisions?

How important is introspectivity to us? How much time did we spend in our lives informing ourselves about how our emotions act and what are the mechanisms which work in us?

Are we attempting to suppress instinct?

When we are born, instinct helps us adapt to life in the physical world. It makes us understand, when hungry, that it is time to eat and, when tired, that it is time to rest. It makes us want to move or rest and it makes us do the movements to keep our muscles in shape and makes our body grow, without us having to do something. The less we do to correct this instinctive intelligence, the better. The less we learn from adults to behave in unnatural ways, the better we are.

Probably the same thing happens with our emotionality. Primitive man knew when to be afraid and when he could show joy or sadness. For the modern man things are otherwise. Because of education we do not express our emotions, almost as if we were ashamed of them and we adapt them to an environment that often judges and condemns them.

This way we neutralize the natural attempts to restore an emotional balance.

How to re-establish emotional self-regulation?

First, we need to know where we prevent it from acting. Somebody says that we must dissolve emotional blocks. But to do this, we need to understand what are the mechanisms that create them. How can we dissolve them if the mechanisms that create them go on working undisturbed?

The introspective paintings of Aurora Mazzoldi show many of these mechanisms. They help us understand how emotional blocks arise and provide us with the key to understanding and solving them.

How to decide our life?

The understanding of the inner mechanisms helps to prevent them from choosing, in our place, how we should live. It is said that to live well, we should free ourselves from certain patterns.

But how can we become free from external patterns, while keeping the internal mechanisms intact, that are also patterns of behavior?

And how can we free ourselves from behavior patterns if we don’t understand how they work?

Introspectivity is the answer to these questions. It is also the title of a book series (Introspectivity). The independently published first book of the series is:

“How To Get The Best From Life. Explore hidden realities and make better choices”
